Welcome to my web site.  I am a professor of philosophy at UCSD, and serve as the department’s director of undergraduate studies.  My research interests range over moral psychology, ethics, the intersection of ethics and the law, biomedical ethics, and psychology.  I have just completed my book, Making Sense of Freedom and Responsibility (Oxford University Press 2011).  For links to my papers, please see my research page.  For current courses, please see my course page.
