The Leibniz Review is an annual, refereed journal sponsored by the Leibniz Society of North America. Founded in 1991, the Review publishes articles and book reviews of recent works on the philosophy of G. W. Leibniz. It also provides the community of Leibniz scholars with up-to-date information about the international status of Leibniz studies. It is indexed in (and full text available from) the web-based Poesis On-line Serials from the Philosophy Documentation Center (http://www.pdcnet.org/), The Philosopher's Index and IBZ. Currently our list of subscribing university libraries includes Harvard, Johns Hopkins, Cornell, Wisconsin, Yale, Erlangen, Firenze, Tel-Aviv, British Columbia, Rice, Rutgers, and Penn State.
What scholars have said about The Leibniz Review
"The Leibniz Review has established itself, remarkably quickly, as an important forum for cutting edge work on Leibniz. The sheer quantity of interest in Leibniz and of high level work on his philosophy amply justifies the existence of a Leibniz-centered journal in English." -- Robert M. Adams, Yale University
"An absolutely invaluable journal. Energetic, well produced, and contentful ... quite unmissable by any properly focussed Leibniz scholar." -- R. S. Woolhouse, University of York
"I am very happy to write in support of The Leibniz Review... [which] is quickly establishing itself as one of the important journals in the history of philosophy. It is now publishing articles by some of the most promising of the younger scholars, as well as by some of the most distinguished senior scholars in the profession. In addition, the regular news on international Leibniz scholarship, together with the publication of new texts make it essential reading for every serious scholar in the history of early modern philosophy. I am proud to have published in it, and proud to be associated with it." -- Daniel Garber, University of Chicago
"A Leibniz-journal of the first rank. All Leibniz-scholars in the English-speaking world (and many in Germany, France, Italy and Spain) look forward to the appearance of the Review each December." -- Patrick Riley, Harvard University
"The Leibniz Review is now justly regarded by the growing body of Leibniz scholars world-wide as one of the most important forums for reviews, articles and general information on the German philosopher and mathematician. There can be few journals which are awaited with such excitement each year." -- Philip Beeley, Leibniz-Forschungsstelle, Mnster
"In just a few short years, this journal has gone from printing its first issue to having a prominent position in the world of Leibniz scholarship, and is in fact on the verge of claiming its rightful place among the respected history of philosophy specialty journals on the world stage." -- Mark Kulstad, Rice University
"An indispensable periodical for all serious Leibniz scholars. I
look forward to each issue." -- Stuart Brown, The Open University

(in any language) on the philosophy of Leibniz, and of critical editions of Leibniz's
works, are occasionally considered. There is an upper limit of seven (7)
typewritten manuscript pages (double-spaced, standard type size) for each
entry. (In rare cases, longer reviews may be accepted.) In order to be
considered for the Review, book
reviews must be received by August 1 to allow time to send a copy to the book's author for review before
the final version is printed. All other items must be received by October
1. Submissions should be e-mailed or
faxed, or mailed complete with a disk. Send all submissions and correspondence
